Hello family and friends. I have been wanting to start blogging for a while now, but was a little nervous on how to get started and wondered if I would keep up with it. I have a dear friend that is an avid blogger and has really used her blogging as a way to express her feelings and share with others that have gone through her experiences. So with that being said, I felt lead to get out of my box and share our life with my dear loved ones who I do not get to see often.
As most of you know, Darren and I are in the process of adopting our second child. Whew, has it been a journey up to this point. Let's just say Darren and I have had our many discussions on whether to have another or not. I tried to "stuff" the BURNING desire down deep and hope the desire would go away with time. This would work for a while as I would throw myself into training for a run and tell myself I could travel and have fun. Like I said this only worked temporary and I would always yearn for this baby I felt God had for me oneday. I love being a mommy and I was not ready to give up the idea of never having another child.
Darren is such a wonderful husband! Although he could not fathom having another child he also knew if this was so strong in me than he was willing to put me and Skylar first and say yes to adoption. We did try an infertility specialist a couple of years ago without success. So now, we are in the midst of trying to adopt through Catholic Charities. We will be starting our home study tomorrow which will take approx. one month. When we get approved, we then can let Catholic Charities circulate our life book to Birth mothers. The birth mothers bravely choose a family by looking at the life books and interviews with the family.
This is such an exciting time for us! I want to keep you all "in the know" so you can be praying for us specifically for the finances to come together, the perfect match from a birth mother, and for Skylar to ease into this transition smoothly. She is so excited for her new sibling. I haven't mentioned we are really praying for a baby boy. His perfect name will be Samuel Blayne Newberry. Blayne comes from a mixture of Darren's middle name Wayne and my dad's family name Blair.
I will keep you posted, I love you all!!!
